A Welcome Reprieve

When last week’s chemotherapy session was canceled due to low platelet counts, Emily’s doctor recommended rest.  The timing could not have been better.  On Monday night, Emily and Miles packed up Ginny and headed to Sacramento for a Taylor family Thanksgiving and a getaway that promised lots of rest and pampering for Emily. Their holiday trip included a spectacular meal prepared by Aunt Suzanne, and picturesque walks with Ginny in the autumn leaves. By Friday, Emily felt rejuvenated enough to watch Miles in his alumni basketball game, and rallied to attend a few hours of Miles’ 10-year high school reunion. Emily, Miles, Rich, and Michele are now back in LA for today’s 6th round of chemotherapy feeling rested, restored, and counting their many blessings.

  1. Dear Emily, how can you not be well….you look so beautiful! Keep that beautiful smile and stay strong. Hugs, Gretchen

  2. Dear Emily and Miles,

I came across your story somehow on the web through my many searches related to my intentions for my dad. I just wanted to send you a message during this holiday season to let you know that we are thinking of you and sending so much loving energy to you and your family and to let you know that you have people in Switzerland thinking of you every day and rooting for you. We love your stories, especially of late, the video in tribute to Kelsey’s run and your unbelievably touching tribute to Miles. It was so beautiful. I loved reading you were married on July 4, by the way, as my husband and I were too. So fun (& connecting!). But mostly I want you to know that you are in my thoughts constantly. I know by your gorgeous, vibrant and strident spirit (& your poignant love for each other) that you will absolutely win this battle. huge hugs from your friends, xoxo ange and kevin
